Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

  What Parents Say About Us!

Dear Eric,

I’d like to thank you for all the hard work you put into making Gabrielle’s day so fantastic and memorable. I have been receiving tons of phone calls from family and friends telling me what an amazing party we had. I don’t think anyone knows that it was all the planning and behind the scenes work that you did for the past 2 years that really made the evening so special. Your attention to detail, prior to the big day, as well as your creative and innovative ideas, are what really made the party special. I truly believe that my guests have never experienced an evening quite like it.

Working with you for the past few years has also been a pleasure. I found that you were always available to take my calls. In addition, I thought you really carried out my vision. So often we have ideas in our minds and when we try and explain them to outsiders there is some sort of communication break down. I could not believe how what I imagined actually came to fruition.

One of the phone calls I received was from an event planner himself, a dear friend of ours, who was a guest at the party. He called to tell us that the party was truly unique and gave you credit for planning a terrific party, but said that it was my relaxed persona that set a great tone. Now, here is what you need to know: I am a perfectionist by nature and when I entertain, I’m not usually the most relaxed person. You were my secret weapon. Having you plan the party allowed me to feel like a guest and really, truly enjoy Gabrielle’s special evening. It also allowed me to enjoy the service and luncheon during the afternoon, since I felt absolutely no stress about the evening. I know you were there to witness what a glorious time I was having and I want to thank you for giving me this wonderful memory.

I’d also like to mention the beautiful way you handled two problems that would have caused most women to completely fall apart, but which you didn’t allow to happen: Great Grandpa Joe's medical emergency and the late arrival of the bus with Gabrielle's friends. In both instances, you were right there to reassure me that everything would be fine (and, of course, it was)... It was those moments, when I needed guidance that you would magically appear. What an asset for me.

Again, I cannot thank you enough for putting together such a creative and unusual evening. I’m still getting compliments from friends when I see them at other events. They loved the unusual entertainment from start to finish. They also loved the setting of the party itself and loved the way the theme was carried out with the entrance pieces. I felt proud of the party. You are the consummate professional.

With warmest regards,

Lisa

Eric

Thank you for a wonderful day. Cameron is absolutely over the moon about how great the party was and that his friends thought it was great too!

Some highlights for us:

  • The kids singing the candlelighting songs and the DJ letting it go until they were done.
  • The magician was a huge hit with both the kids and adults. Cameron said he was not only a great magician but funny too.
  • Cam said the trivia guy was the best by far and that the Cameron Trivia was "way fun"
  • The kids loved the dancing games. We heard about the “suspension bridge” from several of them and are sorry we missed that! Cam also said that “snowball” was fun.
  • The photographer always seemed to be in the right place for the right shot.
  • Dancing, dancing, dancing!
  • That you were so thoughtful and gave Cameron that wonderful book.

Thank you for letting me take the mike to move things along.

As you promised, the afternoon was a breeze for us and we really were able to relax and enjoy the party because we knew that you, and your amazing team, were on top of everything. This is one of the first times we wished we had another child — because then we could have you at their special day too!

Best,

Beth & Chuck

Dear Eric,

We scarcely know where to begin. After months of planning, everything turned out exactly as we wanted. It was a wonderful blur. We'll have to wait to "go to the videotape" to fill in all the gaps. From the moment we got off the bus to the moment the last child left, everything went smoothly.

The tone was set by your still photographer and videographer meeting the bus as the guests arrived. Your dancers greeted the guests and began to get everyone in the party spirit. The magician was waiting for the children and engaged them immediately. The music was playing and the adults got into the party mode. Well, the reviews are in, and they are stupendous!

Your coordination as well as your choice of entertainers are to be ranked top-notch. You have an impeccable sense of timing. Your smooth sense of transitions and knowledge of how to infuse the music and games into the motif was effective in ensuring that the children were occupied and having fun at all times.

We received phone calls from the children's parents informing us that this was the first time their sons actually danced at any Bar/Bat Mitzvah and another mom told us that her daughter said that this one was the best.

We are sure glad that we chose your company to help plan our party. The whole package made our daughter's Bat Mitzvah an event to be proud of and remembered forever.

It would be our pleasure to serve as a reference for you at any time.

Very truly yours,

Madelaine and Norman Barotz

Dear Eric,

Truly, I could not have made this Bat Mitzvah without you. You were a consistent source of guidance, good judgment and caring support. I am very grateful.

My best to you,

Barbara Friedman

P.S. Again, we had a truly fantastic time and you were just amazing! Thank you for everything (and those music choices during the candle-lighting were out of this world).

Dear Eric,

It's hard to believe but this coming weekend will be one month since Harry's Bar Mitzvah and luncheon party.

Honestly, I am just beginning to get my feet back on the ground and return to life as it was before the Bar Mitzvah (BTBM). I've had a whirlwind of calls and personal contacts ever since the big event, which I must share with you, since it was mostly because of you (and Harry) that everything turned out so spectacularly.

Eric, you must know – as I've heard reiterated again and again by so many  people – that the party that you created at Scaletta's was unforgettable. Everyone, whether young or old, relations or friends, uptight stodgy conservatives or loose, liberal crazy party nuts, had a great time. How did you manage to do that?

When the guests stepped through the doors (or turnstile) at Scaletta's they were immediately transported to Yankee Stadium, donning Yankee caps at the door as they were met by waiters clad in Yankee uniforms while hearing Bob Shepherd on the audio system, reminding them of the historical significance of Yankee Stadium. How could they not be swept up in the fervor of Yankee mania?

Lawrence Wheatman's photographs, which were also fabulous, tell the whole story. They capture the initial amazement and joy on each person's face as they entered and those smiles of excitement and pleasure never diminished nor faded in the subsequent (too short) 4 hours that followed.

There was so much for everyone to get involved with, besides the usual party dining, dancing and conversing, though it must be said the music was far from usual and was outrageously enticing.

But if that wasn't enough, our guests could visit the caricaturist, get phony photo I.D.'s, or even enter the games and sports events orginally conceived of for the kids alone. In general, just as everyone became a Yankee, specifically, they became a Yankee kid again. What a wonderful make-believe world you created for each one to enter. It was – as you predicted before the party – an event they will not soon forget, least of all Leslie, Marvin, Harry and I.

What more can I say, Eric. You are the best! For this I thank you, thank you and once again thank you!

Fondly,

Linda Levine

Eric,

Thanks for all your help. You really got us out of jam. I had no idea how much I really needed you until you stepped in. I never felt like you were pushing things on us and I really believe we ended up with just the right mix.

Many, many thanks.

Carol & Arnold
